Project 3

TITLE: MULTI TERRAIN COMBAT ROBOTIC VEHICLE-1 (version - 1)
Description:
Project entitled “MTCRV-1” is a prototype of remote controlled wireless military vehicle. The aim of this model is to provide the troops with a robotic combat platform that can be operated from a place which is far away from the battle field. The gun mounted on the vehicle can be used to aim and even fire at the enemies. Shortly describing, it is a prototype of a remotely operated soldier.
The main objective of the project is to initiate the development of unmanned robotic vehicles for the purpose of surveillance as well as to aid the army during any combat operation.
This bot receives the commands from a hand held remote through RF link (few meters range). The remote uses 434 MHz Tx-Rx. This bot has a wireless camera with a laser pointer using which one can aim at targets by sitting in the control room itself. I have mounted a toy gun so that it can fire at the targets. The bot has got some springs(suspension system) in order to travel in different terrains.
Results:
In this project, in the beginning am not aware of encoders and decoders but I know that am supposed to convert the parallel data and transmit it in a serial sequence. Then in one of my academic text books, Digital integrated circuit analysis, I came across encoders, decoders, multiplexers and multiplexers. With this hint I began searching for such devices and I came across HT12E, HT12D this pair is only 4 bit encoder and decoder pair. After referring to HOLTEK, I found that HT640 and HT648 are apt for my application. In the building process of this project, I have referred datasheets of many digital IC's and mastered the technique of extracting information from datasheets.
The mechanical structure is done in the TOOLS LAB of mechanical department in which I used LATHE MACHINE for giving MTCRV - 1 its shape and structure.
